Introduction

The Gulf War, also known as the Persian Gulf War, is a significant conflict in contemporary history. It lasted from August 2, 1990, to February 28, 1991. The war resulted from political, economic and military tensions in the Middle East. These tensions were primarily between Iraq and a coalition of 34 nations led by the United States. This essay will explore the Gulf War’s causes. It will examine key events and major players. Additionally, it will discuss its lasting impact on international relations and the Middle East. We will also analyse the lessons learned from the war. This analysis shapes our understanding of modern warfare and in particular international relations and diplomacy in the Gulf region.
